Faith Formation

WELCOME TO FAITH FORMATION!

Registration for Children’s Faith Formation for TK-7th grade is NOW OPEN! Our annual sessions from October to May include a two-year preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist. We also welcome children over the age of seven who have not yet been baptized to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation adapted for Children.

Registration

To register, please either complete the printable form OR the Google Form Registration. If you opt to fill out the printable version, please drop it off in the office (Monday-Thursday 9-4pm) or email the forms to Sandra Quintanilla at sandra.quintanilla@dsj.org. You are now able to pay the fees using PayPal or Venmo. If you would like to pay cash or check complete your payment through the office as well. Considering all current family expenses and financial demands, there is no change to our prior year’s fee of $150.00 per new child plus $75.00 per returning child.

Requirements

Family Requirements:

  • Registration should be properly completed before classes begin or by the end of September.
  • Attend class every Sunday promptly from 9:00 am until 10:15am (English) or 10:30am until 11:45am (Spanish)
  • Attend Mass and join Liturgy of the Word for children regularly (10:30 English or 12:00 Spanish).
  • Take time to enjoy faith formation together as a family.
  • Bring any issues, questions, or curiosities to our attention sandra.quintanilla@dsj.org.

Parent Responsibilities: 

  • Parents are the primary educators. Be involved!! Be involved in our community and in the sacramental life of your child by assisting with practicing daily prayer, assisting with understanding concepts, and assisting with homework when assigned.
  • Make attendance and class activities a priority and please be prompt – classes start at 9am sharp!
  • Catechist will maintain and submit a signed list of important knowledge your child must complete. 

Participant (child) Responsibilities: 

  • Attendance at Mass is a requirement!
  • Make attendance and class activities a priority. Catechist will maintain a weekly report. 
  • Participate positively or inquire with Sandra with any questions
